Limbs for Life and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Collected Used Limbs

Collected Limbs Will Benefit Haiti Amputees

Thanks to the generosity of amputees in the Dallas area we were able to collect 125 limbs and enough componentry for 50 more at a limb drive Feb. 28 in Dallas.

Limbs for Life, in conjunction with ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, held the drive to collect limbs to benefit amputees affected by the earthquake in Haiti. These limbs will be a part of Limbs for Life's upcoming mission to Haiti.

There are numerous people we have to thank for making this event possible. First, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children for hosting the limb drive and reaching out to its network of patients. Jen Griffin and the PLAY Foundation helped make the event a success by volunteering during the drive.

Finally, we have to thank the people who came out and made this event more successful that we could have imagined. Their generosity will go a long way to helping the nation of Haiti get back on its feet.

If you would like to donate limbs to our effort in Haiti, please follow the instructions on our donations page and simply make a note when you send the donation that you would like for it to go to Haiti. Limbs for Life will sponsor more limb drives in the future to benefit Haiti. Keep checking LimbsForLife.org to see when we're having one in your area.
